Which Universal Phone Charger?The 3rd party universal phone charger has become an indispensable tool for many of us who depend on handheld gadgets to make a living. We rely on them not only as emergency phone chargers, but to also top up our MP3 players, Kindles, iPods, wireless head sets, GPSs ... One charger for all of our cell phones and handheld gizmos.
While cell phone manufacturers are negotiating on a standard universal charger as a consequence of pressure from the European Commission, don't expect to find one packaged with your new cell phone much before 2012. The alternative is to directly charge our cell phone or other handheld gadget by leaving it in the sun for hours.
The AA cell phone charger is possibly less green than a portable solar charger, but it's generally more convenient. iGo dominates this niche with it's enormous range of systems and thousands of different "Tips."
In the event of a natural disaster, a universal cell phone battery charger could become a life saving piece of equipment. To that end the American Red Cross FR150 incorporates a dynamo cell phone charger as well as a solar and AC charger. But for pure practicality it's hard to go past the Voltaic Solar Panel Backpack.
