Uniden cordless phones compete head to head with Panasonic cordless telephones. The best cordless phones in almost every niche are made by one or other of these two companies. Uniden was the first company to a manufacture a cordless phone. It's products are well engineered and assembled to Japanese manufacturing standards.

The main battlegrounds on which these two companies compete are the DECT 6.0 and 5.8GHz cordless phone frequencies. Multi line telephones are generally 5.8GHz, while the 1.9 GHz DECT 6.0 cordless phone frequency has emerged as the de-facto standard for single line home phones.

As the DECT cordless phone protocol is an international standard the performance characteristics of all DECT phones are similar. Uniden and Panasonic differentiate their products by adding loads of additional features. Uniden in particular has an extensive range of DECT 6.0 accessory handsets. The best of these include the sleek Uniden DCX300 and Uniden TCX905 handsets as well as the DWX207 waterproof accessory handset.

Unfortunately for Uniden its arch rival has come up with some sensational DECT 6.0 phones including the Panasonic KX-TG9332T and KX-TG1032S. Panasonic also has a DECT 6.0 Bluetooth home phone, although it's not one of Panasonic's better efforts.

Uniden 2 Line Cordless Phones

Uniden has an excellent and extensive range 5.8 GHz two line cordless phones. They have produced models to address every conceivable combination of requirements and loaded them with features. The best of these include the Uniden TRU8885 and TRU9466.

In comparison with the Panasonic two line cordless phone range, Uniden 5.8GHz phones are more stylish and generally offer more features. The Panasonic KX-TG6702B is a robust work horse complete with a formal black finish. It remains very popular with the home office market. Panasonic hedged its bets by releasing a DECT 2 line phone (KX-TG9392T). As with most DECT multi line telephones the Panasonic KX-TG9392T earned negative reviews when first released but the teething issues now appear to be resolved.

Uniden 2 line cordless phones are definitely amongst the best available. They consistently rate well in terms of clarity, freedom from interference, range and features.

Uniden astutely took ownership of several cordless phone niche markets. For example it's rugged-waterproof cordless phones set the benchmark. Todate Uniden remains unchallenged by Panasonic or any other competitor in this space.
