Panasonic's latest release is the KX-TG9291T.
It's a 2 line DECT 6.0 phone pitched at the same price point as it's 5.8 GHz cousin. In theory it should be a better phone. The 1.9 GHz frequency should provide better range, security and protection from interference. However, our impression is that it's not winning the hearts and minds of users in the same way as the KX-TG6702B.
Panasonic tends to update strategic products over a longer life cycle than its competitors. No doubt they will follow this strategy with the KX-TG9291T. We look forward to seeing DECT multi line cordless phone technology maturing and achieving a status comparable with Panasonic's existing 5.8 GHz phones.
Uniden 2 Line Cordless Phones
Depending on whether the requirement is for: dual keypads, digital answering , call waiting / caller ID ... there will almost certainly be a Uniden cordless 2 line phone that fits the bill. Their 5.8 GHz cordless 2 line phone range is extensive. Uniden phones are also loaded with useful features.
The model that most directly competes with the Panasonic's 2 line flag ship - the KX-TG6702B - is the Uniden TRU9496. Uniden telephones are excellent and getting better all the time. While Panasonic tends to focus on a few core models the Uniden strategy is to manufacture dozens of variations so as to satisfy every possible requirement.
Another distinct difference between these two brands is that Uniden 5.8 GHz multi line telephones are stylish and can double as home cordless phones, whereas the Panasonic options are unmistakably intended for office use. They are made according to the same formula as the Model T Ford - "available in any color as long as it's black."
