USB Phone Adapter |
For a nominal outlay Skype is transformed into a service that anyone can use, even if they aren't computer savvy.
Free online phone calls are a compelling, but add a Skype phone number to the mix and the proposition is irresistible. Calls to an online phone number can be picked up from any connected handset. Adapters eliminate the need to be anywhere near a computer to answer incoming Skype calls.
Most adapters also provide numerous advanced features including call forwarding to landlines and cell phones. If an existing phone line is retained it's also possible to host a Skype conference call for parties using both Skype and traditional phone services. The D-Link adapter has LED's that indicate whether an inbound call is from Skype or a landline phone service.
With few if any exceptions, Skype adapters also deliver greatly improved call quality. Most Skype problems related to voice quality, drop outs ... can be addressed with a decent wireless router and phone adapter.
Which is the best Skype phone adapter? In our view it's the D-Link option, it's also one of the cheapest available.
Up to 10,000 calling minutes to landlines for one low monthly fee - the new Skype calling subscriptions.
