- Is it the Best Online FAX Service? -
The only way to evaluate the RingCentral FAX service is to try it out. Like most people we hate being sold on a product or service we can't try out. We wouldn't buy a pair of shoes without trying them on and the same applies to online FAX services.
Business fax services have now superseded the fax machine. For a while it appeared that the best solution was to install your own fax to email software, but experience quickly exposed the problems with that option:
1. The software needs to be upgraded all the time, either because there is a new version of Windows, Mac ... or a new version of the fax software.
2. There is no saving in call costs because faxes are sent via POTS (Plain Old Telephone System) and not over an IP network.
3. The software isn't simple to use and when problems occur it's difficult to get assistance.
Online fax services are the obvious solution. They are similar to an ISP (Internet Service provider). While anyone can set up and host their own Internet service, it doesn't make sense to do so. Ditto for fax services.
