Which Panasonic 2 Line Cordless Phone?
The Panasonic KX-TG6702B or a DECT 6.0 Phone

Which is the best Panasonic 2 line cordless phone. There is now a choice between a Panasonic 5.8GHz cordless phone and a DECT 6.0 cordless phone. The 5.8GHz KX-TG6702B is a solid performer. It consistently scores well in cordless phone reviews, but 5.8 phones are no longer as popular as they were.

While DECT 6.0 phones must comply with a global standard, that's not the case with 5.8 phones. The quality of 5.8 implementations is variable between brands. As a result even Panasonic and Uniden cordless phones, which are amongst the best 5.8GHz phones are now declining in popularity versus DECT options.

An even more potent factor is that DECT 6.0 cordless phones have become the de-facto home phone. DECT phones using the 1.9GHz cordless phone frequency are almost impossible to fault as single line phones.

In our biased opinion there is no reason to look any further than the KX-TG6702B for the best Panasonic 2 line cordless phone. It's expandable up to 8 handsets, includes digital answering and has excellent range. It also features a light on the tip of ariel, which is very nice if you want to silence the phone but not miss a call. Above all it is a solid and reliable phone system.

In the two line cordless telephone niche it's the benchmark for: sound quality, clarity, freedom from interference, range and useful features.

Panasonic KX-TG9392T DECT 6.0 Cordless Phone

The KX-TG9392T is a relatively new phone. When it was first released it was condemned by many reviewers for issues associated with limited range and interference. We were quite surprised by these comments because range and freedom from interference are normally DECT strengths. We then noticed that a number of other brands released 2 line DECT 6.0 phones and they were also slammed for similar reasons.

Whether these teething issues were a consequence of some short comings in the DECT standard when supporting a 2 line phone system or an issue with early models of the KX-TG9392T we don't know. Either way we have noticed that recent reviewers are very positive about this phone. The early issues have apparently been resolved.

Our Conclusion

Which Panasonic 2 line cordless phone? In our biassed opinion we are still inclined to stick with the iconic KX-TG6702B. It's an almost faultless phone and we have never encountered any issues with Panasonic's 5.8GHz implementation. As long as Uniden and Panasonic continue to manufacture excellent 5.8GHz multi line cordless phones, we will continue to use and recommend them.

It's early days DECT 6.0 multi line cordless phones. We have no doubt that in due course DECT phones will dominate this segment as well. In the meantime if your determined to get a DECT 2 line phone, we would recommend the KX-TG9392T over phones from other manufacturers.
