At home we use a 2 line cordless phone system. It is ideal for home office or SOHO users. It allows us to juggle personal and business calls from the one handset. The other major benefit is that being cordless there are no wiring costs.
There are many brands of multiline phone system including: Philips, RCA, Panasonic, Uniden, TMC Epic, Cortelco, AT&T, Vtech, GE, Motorola, Northwestern Bell ... to name a few.
There are significant differences between those units manufactured to meet business specifications and those made for the consumer market. These differences are very apparent in the case of cordless units, where the cheaper consumer options typically use cordless phone frequencies that are susceptible to interference and eavesdropping.
There are some potentials pitfalls in cordless phone comparison that require doing a little homework to avoid ending up with a lemon.
For small business users we would recommend the following multi line phone systems:
Panasonic KX-TG6702B 2 Line Cordless Phone System
