Which Cheap Business Phone Service?Hosted or virtual IP PBX services are the key to finding a cheap business phone service. They are cheap, but only in the sense of being "cheaper" than those provided by old style telephone companies using traditional public switched networks. The old telcos cannot compete with the new generation of hosted VoIP PBX providers either on service or price. They are under attack from these up starts providing services based on VoIP telephony and directly targeting their small business customers. They are ill equipped to defend themselves against these attacks and now focus on the defense of their residential and large corporate accounts. In tough times we are all interested in finding ways to cut costs. Switching to a cheap business phone service is an easy way for a small business owner to improve the bottom line. Furthermore with a little bit of due dilligence there is no reason for the exercise to result in any loss of services or degradation in the quality of service. There is intense competition between small business phone service providers and inevitably there is going to be a shakeout as they cannot all survive. As a consequence, it is probably not a good idea to hunt out the very "cheapest" business phone and Internet service. Anyway, they are all much cheaper than the services offered by local phone companies, so there is not a lot to be gained from switching to a service that maybe discontinued. When we compare phone services we naturally look at features and costs, but we also look at the business behind the service and its scale of operation. We believe that the larger organizations with substantial investments in current generation IP technology are the ones that will continue to grow and prosper.
