The simplest route is to buy a Bluetooth cordless phone or a Bluetooth gateway that will automatically pair with your cell phone(s) on arriving home or at the office. Once the link is established it's possible to answer calls to your cell phone(s) from linked corded or cordless handsets. But better still, outbound calls from these "landline" handsets will now use a cell phone service.
If your cell phone plan includes "free minutes," ditching the landline suddenly becomes a practical option as you can effectively make "free landline calls."

A Bluetooth cordless phone is probably the simplest route. Everything is combined in a single package, so there is nothing to do other than plug it in and start saving money on line rentals.
No more scrambling to pick up cell phones when they ring. Just pick up any cordless phone extension.

Xlink-cell Bluetooth Gateway
Bluetooth gateways are a more cost effective solution if you already own an adequate cordless phone system or want to use a corded phone. Most gateways will connect with either corded or cordless phones and provide the same benefits as above.
