What should you look for in a AA cell phone charger? Yes, battery chargers are not rocket science, but many of the options are lemons.

Many battery operated cell phone chargers are junk. Cheap cell phone chargers in every sense. They self-disassemble before it's possible to use them more than two or three times. However, there are others that will survive years of daily use and they are no more expensive.

I went through quite a few portable cell phone chargers before stumbling across the iGo powerXtender. Not only are they robust, but they are also a universal phone charger. They will charge just about any brand of cell phone and "Tips" are also available for most handheld gadgets. They can be used to charge just about anything including: MP3 players, GPS, Blackberries, Kindles, wireless earphones, electronic toys ...

iGo pretty much owns the universal phone charger niche and manufactures a host of complimentary systems. There's not much one can say about them other than "they do everything that's promised."

Given our growing dependence on handheld gadgets, emergency phone chargers are clearly going to become standard equipment for just about everyone.
